Prepare the Potatoes: Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into even fries (about 1/4 inch thick) for uniform cooking.
Soak in Water: Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and results in crispier fries.
Preheat the Air Fryer: While the potatoes soak, preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
Dry and Season: After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel. Transfer them to a large bowl.
Add Seasonings: Drizzle olive oil over the fries. Add minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until the fries are evenly coated.
Air Fry the Fries: Arrange the seasoned fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket (you may need to do this in batches). Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
Add Parmesan: In the final 3 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the fries and return them to the air fryer. Cook until the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, carefully remove the fries from the air fryer. Transfer them to a serving plate, sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley, and serve hot.
Notes
Soaking the fries helps achieve a crispier texture.
