g
fresh button mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed
4
tablespoons
unsalted butter
5
cloves
garlic, minced
2
tablespoons
fresh parsley, chopped
1
teaspoon
lemon juice
0.5
teaspoon
red pepper flakes (optional)
to taste
salt and pepper
Instructions
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, allowing it to foam slightly but not brown.
Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.
Add the cleaned mushrooms to the skillet, stirring to coat them evenly with the garlic butter.
Cook the mushrooms for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they become tender and start to release their juices.
Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the lemon juice over the cooked mushrooms.
Add the chopped fresh parsley and give the mushrooms a final stir to combine all the flavors.
Notes
Serve in a rustic wooden bowl or a stylish white dish, garnished with parsley.
