Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking dish.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
Add brown sugar to the banana mixture and stir until well combined.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Once baked, allow the blondies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
