          Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.

            Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 12x16 inches).

              In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, and chopped pecans (if using). Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.

                Starting from one long side, roll the dough tightly into a log. Slice into 12 even rolls.

                  Place the rolls in a greased baking pan, leaving some space in between. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

                    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown.

                      Let cool for a few minutes, then drizzle with cream cheese frosting.
